I finally did it...

I just became a paying customer of the iTunes Music Store. I bought "Private Intentions" and "Road" by Don Johnson Big Band.

"How does it feel?! How does it feel to be part of the mob?!". Prerry good actually.

I'm not convinced about iTunes. I bought Apocalyptica's 'Cult' from iTunes because it is a ridiculously expensive import CD over here but I can only listen to it on my computer. It does not translate to my MP3 player (not an iPod) and I cannot burn a single copy - just one copy - so I can listen to it on my stereo because of rights management or some such. So I'm still buying CDs.

Yeah, there are some downsides. But I do beleive that you can burn the songs on a CD as a normal unprotected songs, which you can then move to a device of your choice.

That said, I don't really see myself becoming a big customer of iTunes. I can see myself buying one song occasionally. Espesially if I find a particular song I like, but don't want to buy the entire album just for that one song.

Another use I can see is those songs that are not available in retail around here for one reason or the other. Such an example is "Such Great Heights" by the Postal Service.

If you are interested in music that is availble here, but not in Oz, drop me a a line, and I'll find out what I could do :).
